Shannon Graessle | Flawed, Imperfect, favored
Hi There, Bud! I’m so glad you stopped by. My name is Shannon Graessle (pronounced like Presley with a G), I’m the girl who loves to live unexpectedly and is always expectant of the future. I hit the jackpot when I married my best friend and high school sweetheart on a rainy June day, and am learning to trust the Lord’s faithfulness and reaping His goodness through the love He has given us. You can meet him below.
I believe in exploring truth, taking the unbeaten path, being silly, playing records and dancing in the living room, chasing after dreams, living whole heartedly, and relishing vulnerability. Day to day, I wear my heart out on my sleeve, sometimes to a fault, and as a soft heart in a hard world, I have discovered the power honesty can have. But as a “recovering” perfectionist I know how hard it is to let our flaws peek through who we want the world to see us as.
Yet, in all the messiness and noise that this world throws at us, I’m convinced it is the beautiful intricacy of our “flaws” that weave our stories together– in all their original and imperfect glory. So they’ve stolen my heart and I’ve become a fan of our not-so-picture-perfect humanity, and think that if you give it a chance maybe you’d join the fan club too.
To be honest, though, 99% of the time I don’t know what I am doing and pretty much live on the struggle bus– I hit the snooze button more times then I’m proud of, make too many microwave dinners, and jump to conclusion far too often, just to give you a few examples– but I promise to tell the truth, and share the laughs, tears, and the “everyday”, with you here.
